Promo tour update

17 interviews in Paris, and still smiling ;-)

Arjen has been hard at work on the promo tour, with nary a free moment to do so much as check email (so apologies in advance to those of you who are waiting for replies).

You might think that there would be plenty of time for sight-seeing, but apart from a rushed attempt to see the Acropolis in Athens (we got there 2 minutes before closing time), there’s simply been no room for anything but interviews, eating, and sleeping. And in Athens, boy did we ever EAT. Thanks to Sakis and Kostas 1 & 2 for taking such good care of us (and our appetites!).

In Athens Arjen was also able to squeeze in an impromptu acoustic guest spot with Anneke van Giersbergen (Agua de Annique, ex The Gathering) during which they performed Valley of the Queens together for the first time ever. They also played The Beatles’ “Across the Universe,” which featured chilling vocal harmony arrangements by Anneke and her guitarist Joris. I caught the event on video, and might be able to be convinced to post some highlights once we return from the tour ;-)

Arjen is finishing up the last of the interviews in Madrid as I type this, and we’ll be dashing off to catch the flight to Milan as soon as he’s finished. No res
